Here are two sets of cut-out puppets you can do at home. Decide whether you want to play with the colored ones, or whether you want to color your own. You can also add glitter, ribbon and other decorations with glue. You might also want to take a popsicle stick and glue it on Jenny’s back to make a puppet. If you’re with friends, print out a few Jumping Jenny’s and make them all look different. Maybe your Juming Jenny puppets can have their own jumpathon!

The book can inspire a host of art projects, from making African style masks to musical instruments to beads. The children in Jumping Jenny contributed to the fundraising fair in all different ways. One of the fun things that they did was make beaded jewelry. Uganda has a tradition of making beautiful beads out of magazines called Mzuri beads. These are fun to make with your children and with some advanced planning, you can even control the color schemes of the paper you use. It is also a great way to recycle your old magazines. Here are some photographs of people jumping. You can use these photographs as inspiration. Maybe you can write a story about one of them. Think about what may have happened before, or after. Or maybe you would like to try to take out your crayons or markers and draw a picture that shows the same feeling as one of the photographs.
